‘Rumah Aman’ means House of Peace according to the Malay Language. It is strictly a charity organisation to care and give security, joy and education for the children and to provide for the needy.

We operate from our own premises in the city of Shah Alam, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia. The premises was purchased with monies donated by a family from England who were also instrumental in raising the initial funds to do upgrading works to the ten year old former kindergarten building.

We are located in a two storey building with sixteen rooms including classrooms, a library, a computer centre, a mussola, a reception area, dormitories, office spaces, a lounge area, staff living quarters and ablution, shower and toilet facilities.

We also have connected to the building a fully covered kitchen and dining facilities, laundry and a separate two  storey three bedroom apartment with three toilets, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen and a family room. On the exterior, we have a carefully landscaped garden with a small grassy area for the children to participate in daily physical exercises. There is also a playground and a large playing field next to the property which is easily accessible.

This building is now a full fledged facility to provide the best environment for the raising of orphaned children and providing their initial education. It also provides a platform for the other charity work we are engaged in. All our charity work is made possible by people who share the idea that charity for the pleasure of Allah is rewarding.

Our educational programme is called I-Smart which is an abbreviation for Iman, Solat, Muhasabah, Accountability, Responsibility and Taqwa. This is the basis which we inculcate into the daily lives of the children so that they will become successful individual, if not leaders, which we strive for them to be. Although the teachings of Islam are integral in everything that we do, the children will be given adequate instruction and exposure to the worldly knowledge and skills. We will also pay a lot of attention in creating a trusting and committed environment for the children in our care.

We have in our plans for the near future to provide a city wide transportation assistance program in Shah Alam for the elderly, disabled and needy families. We also welcome original and innovative ideas to bestow new and better ways to extend our charitable obligations.
